How can I make the package pop with a small budget?
To be honest, I am slightly obsessed with packaging.
If you don't know, packaging is what got me into this business… let's take a trip down memory lane for a hot second. There I was, in Japan, surrounded by every imaginable stationery item know to man. It wasn't just the pens or pads of paper, it was everything- the packaging was next level. It was all coordinating and popped off the shelf. Everything made you want to buy it without even knowing what was inside… what was this magic? Packaging. Packaging magic I tell you! I was so inspired by all the detail in Japan that I came home and decided to try making washi tape… and the rest is history!
When I started out, I had no money for making my package pop, especially the Japanese pop I wanted to have with every product. I want to share some ideas on ways you can make each product or order pop, leaving you confident and proud!
Write a personal note with a fun pen. These can be leveled up by using a notepad or sealing it with washi tape or a gold star sticker (these are sold in bulk at most dollar stores)
Add a fun sticker! This can be your logo, I get bulk stickers made from online labels- they come in a roll and are very handy! I also use them to make the stickers I put on all my wrapping paper rolls making my product packaging pop a little bit more. I now have custom stickers for each roll of washi tape which makes them feel a little bit more special.
Use a fun mailer. I used to use a colored mailer and then switched to eco-friendly and would add washi tape to the outside. You could also draw on the envelope or add more stickers.
Have fun postcards printed to write a note on that has all your business information on it. I now have these for retail and wholesale.
Add packaging tape with your art on it or your logo. This is one of my favorite ways to make my packages pop! I get mine from Sticker Mule. I always wait until they have a sale. Sign up for their newsletter and you will be updated when it goes on sale. This will go longer if you use it to seal one side- not every side- hard lesson learned, ha ha!
Add branded tissue paper. This is one of those things that I want and have yet to pull the trigger on… I know noissue offers it and it's always beautiful to receive.
Custom boxes. Again, next level, but so beautiful!
I hope these give you some ideas on ways to not break the bank and add a little pop.
